Jack D. Cowan, a native of Orlando, Florida, has spent the majority
of his life in the South. His has exhibited work in Chicago, Los
Angeles, New York, and Miami. During his time in the Midwest,
he showed frequently at the prestigious Hoosier Salon in Indianapolis.
Throughout the years his artwork has continued to garner the attention
of admirers and collectors throughout the Americas, Europe, and
Oceania. He continues to produce new works, including commissions,
and maintains a clientele of private and corporate collectors.
He is influenced by the fashion industry and the work of the great
masters such as Michelangelo, Vermeer, Degas, and Manet.
Whether depicting the mythical and symbolic, the classical, or
the recurrent themes of ordinary pursuits of pleasure, leisure,
and entertainment, his style and quality is readily recognized.
The human figure is the common thread running throughout his body
of work and the subject for which he is most well known and widely
appreciated.
